Thomas had left it all behind. He was once a U.S.

Army logistics officer, trained in field

                        operations and logistics under high-stress

                        conditions.

But what struck me most wasn’t his rank—it was

what he chose to do after.

He walked away from the system to test

deep into the forest regions of Appalachia and

began putting theory into practice. He built with his

own hands. He learned how to grow and store

food, how to filter water from streams, how to build

a shelter from scratch. He studied forgotten

methods of survival, ancient farming, low-tech

                   medicine, and biblical prophecy.

                       He didn’t just read books
